The Merritt Pleated Trouser- Black

1. Everyday Polished

Pair them with a striped tee or simple fitted crewneck and tuck just the front into the waistband to give the trouser some shape. Add a leather loafer or pointed flat, a structured tote and a lightweight cardigan over your shoulders. It gives you an easy outfit for work, errands or lunch that feels more finished than denim without feeling dressy.

2. Soft and Relaxed

Wear them with a fine knit sweater in a soft neutral and let the sweater sit naturally at the waistband or tuck it slightly at the front. Add a simple leather belt, flat shoe and an oversized shoulder bag. Finish with a trench or longer cardigan for an outfit that feels relaxed, comfortable and still very pulled together.

3. Dinner or Work

Style them with a simple blouse, fitted knit or sleeveless shell and add a relaxed blazer over top. A pointed toe shoe or low heel will lengthen the line of the trouser, while a smaller structured bag makes the outfit feel a little more intentional. It is an easy way to take the same pant from daytime into dinner without needing to completely change the outfit.

Let the shape of the trouser do the work. Because the leg has a little more volume, create some definition at the waist with a full tuck, front tuck or a sweater that finishes closer to the waistband. If you are adding a longer cardigan or blazer, keep the layer underneath simple and streamlined.
