Description

The kind of layer that makes a simple outfit feel finished the second you put it on. The Calder Stripe Cardigan has an easy open front, relaxed shape and bold horizontal stripes that add interest without making the outfit feel busy. The hip length works beautifully over tees, tanks and lightweight knits, while the loose fit gives you enough room to layer comfortably. Throw it over jeans for an everyday look, wear it with trousers when you want something a little more polished, or keep it by the door as the layer you reach for whenever an outfit needs one more piece.

WEAR IT 3 WAYS

1. Everyday with Denim

Start with a simple cream or chocolate tee and straight leg denim, then wear the cardigan open so the base layer creates a clean line through the middle. Add loafers or ballet flats and an everyday leather bag. Because the stripe already brings plenty of interest, keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the cardigan be the third piece that pulls everything together.

2. Tonal with Chocolate Trousers

Pair it with a fitted chocolate or cream knit and fluid chocolate trousers for an easy tonal look. Keeping the colours within the same family makes the stripe feel sophisticated rather than casual. Add a pointed flat or loafer, simple jewellery and a structured bag for an outfit that works for the office, lunch or dinner.

3. Relaxed with a White Shirt

Layer it over a crisp white button down and leave the cardigan completely open. Add dark wash jeans or tailored black trousers and let a little of the shirt show at the cuffs and hem. Finish with loafers and a leather tote. The combination of the structured shirt and soft knit gives you that effortless layered look without adding bulk.

THE LORDON Styling Note

Think of this as your finishing layer. The open front naturally creates two vertical lines through the body, which helps balance the horizontal stripe and keeps the overall look flattering. For the easiest outfit, wear a simple solid colour underneath and repeat either the cream or chocolate somewhere else in your look. You do not need to match it exactly. Keeping the rest of the outfit quiet is what makes the stripe look polished.
