Description

This is the sweater that makes the rest of your wardrobe look better. The clean turtleneck creates a polished frame under coats, jackets and cardigans, while the uncomplicated shape gives patterned pants, statement accessories and interesting outerwear room to stand out. It is equally useful on the days when you want simplicity. Add a great trouser, earrings and a coat and there is nothing else to figure out. Quiet pieces like this are often the ones that end up doing the most work.

WEAR IT 3 WAYS

Make the Coat the Outfit Wear it under a long wool coat with straight leg denim and boots. The clean neckline creates a simple column underneath and lets a great coat become the focus.

Build Around a Better Trouser Pair it with a wide leg or patterned pant and loafers. Because the sweater is uncomplicated, you can wear the bottoms in your closet that sometimes feel harder to style.

Dinner Without a Blouse Tuck it into a skirt or tailored trouser, add earrings and a pointed shoe. The turtleneck gives you a polished neckline without needing a button down, blouse or extra layer.

THE LORDON Styling Note

A turtleneck is one of the easiest ways to create a clean base when an outfit has several other elements going on. Use it beneath an interesting jacket, with a textured skirt or alongside a statement pant. Keeping the top simple gives the eye somewhere to rest and often makes the whole outfit look more intentional.
